My family and I have had the very good fortune to have rented the home at 535 Shore Road in Truro, MA for the same week from July 2014-2017. The property manager, Rick, always does his best to give return renters first priority for the following year. This is a very convenient service. Rick is a pleasure to work with and a consumate business professional. I have always received a full security deposit refund within a week of rental.
We have rented from Rick several times and are always pleased with his property. The 535 Shore Road unit is very roomy and recent upgrades make it both beautiful and very functional. It is very well maintained and the grounds are meticulous. Our security deposit was returned promptly and without deductions. We always felt that Rick is very helpful and informative. On one of our visits we were there for a memorial service for our mother-in-law and Rick was very accommodating and stayed open just for us beyond is usual season.
The house is impeccably clean and beautiful. Recently remodeled, it is loaded with state of the art appliances. The office for Truro Properties is next door to the property and I have engaged Rick in conversation many times. He is always willing to give you the best beach and restaurant recommendations. I can't think of a more customer focused property management firm with which to work.
I can't wait to return in July 2018.
The property at 535 Shore rd in Truro is beautiful but don't let this fool you or convince you to rent from this agency. We were so highly insulted to learn that $150 was retained from our security deposit upon our departure. The reasons for keeping the money were hardly justifiable. The day of departure, we cleaned the entire house, and we were running a few minutes behind. I went into the office, where the owner was next door to the property, to let him know we would be a few minutes behind and he said that was fine but to hurry up. We vacated 20 minutes past the requested time (10am). I also told him we had a load of dishes in the washer and would be happy to unload but the cycle wasn't quite finished, he assured me that was fine. Later that day we received an email of a list of "violations", two of which were the occurrences stated above. The other listed violations were about a missing crumb tray from a toaster oven, which we never used, stains on the mattress covers which he assumed my children slept on and did not and I had gone over everything with a fine tooth comb, there were no stains when we left. He also claims there to be stains on other things that needed to be laundered. We are reasonable people and if that were the case, we would have no problem agreeing to pay to fix it. However, I asked for receipts and pictures, none of which were provided. His claim for keeping a security deposit for vacating late and dishes is beyond absurd and completely unreasonable. If you are planning to rent and have a relaxing vacation, refrain from this property and/or management agency. He walks through the yard daily, there is a huge fox problem, and after you leave, this agency will find anything and everything just to retain any little bit of money they can without reasonable justification. As a note, our family also owns a cleaning company as well as beach home property. We are very familiar with the expectations when renting a vacation home from the home owners perspective and this was just plainly insulting. Never ever again.
